Privacy Policy

Kachi Clash is a Grand Sumo prediction game. We collect only the information needed to sign you in, operate the game, deliver optional notifications, and understand overall site usage. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Information we collect

Sign-in and account information

When you sign in with Google, Kachi Clash requests access only to your basic Google profile. We receive and store:

  • your Google account’s unique identifier;
  • your Google display name; and
  • the URL of your Google profile picture.

We use this information to create or find your Kachi Clash account, suggest a Kachi Clash display name, and show your profile picture. Your display name and profile-picture URL are refreshed when you sign in. We do not request your Google email address, contacts, files, or other Google account data. The temporary OAuth access token used during sign-in is not stored by Kachi Clash.

If you choose Discord or Reddit instead, we receive and store the equivalent account identifier, username, and avatar information those services provide through their basic identity permissions.

Game and profile information

We store your Kachi Clash display name, account creation date, tournament picks, scores, rankings, awards, and heya membership. This information is needed to operate the game.

Optional push notifications

If you opt in to web push notifications, we store the subscription endpoint and browser-generated encryption keys, your notification preferences, your browser’s user-agent description, and the date the subscription was created. We use this information only to send the notifications you select.

Technical information and analytics

Kachi Clash uses an essential session cookie to keep you signed in and protect the sign-in flow. Our web server may also process standard request information, such as your IP address, browser user agent, requested page, and referring page, for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.

We use Plausible Analytics to measure aggregate site usage. Plausible does not use cookies or persistent identifiers; it processes limited visit information such as the page, referrer, browser, device type, and approximate location. Our analytics dashboard is public.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • authenticate you and maintain your account;
  • run the prediction game and publish scores and standings;
  • display your chosen name and profile picture;
  • send optional notifications you request;
  • secure, maintain, and improve the service; and
  • understand aggregate traffic and usage.

What is public

Kachi Clash is a public competition. Your Kachi Clash display name, profile picture, join date, sign-in provider name, picks, scores, rankings, awards, and heya membership may be visible to anyone. Your external account identifier, push subscription details, and session information are not displayed publicly.

When information is shared

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information is shared only as needed to operate Kachi Clash:

  • with Google, Discord, or Reddit when you choose that provider for sign-in;
  • with the push service associated with your browser when we deliver a notification you requested;
  • with Plausible for aggregate website analytics; or
  • with infrastructure providers that host or protect the service.

Retention and your choices

Account and game records are retained while your account remains in use and as needed to preserve tournament results. Push subscriptions are retained until they are removed or the push service reports that they are no longer valid.

You can decline push notifications or revoke notification permission in your browser. You can also revoke Kachi Clash’s access to your Google profile from your Google Account’s third-party connections settings. Revoking access prevents future Google sign-ins but does not by itself delete information already stored by Kachi Clash.

Security and changes to this policy

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we maintain. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy when Kachi Clash or its data practices change. The date at the top of this page will show when it was last updated.
